About ecycleme.com and Asheville Computer Recycling

What happens in our recycling facility?
The technicians at e-cycleme.com test each computer system they receive to determine if it is repairable. If a system can be repaired, we will refurbish it and it will be donated to the PowerOn community, in association with The Eblen-Kimmel Charitable Group and A-B Tech, for community members in need. Reusable parts are harvested from systems that cannot be repaired. Any remaining parts are refined into reusable materials. The following items are accepted for recycling at e-cycleme.com:

• Computer Monitors
• Desktop Computers
• Laptop Computers
• Computer Cables
• Computer Speakers
• Mice and Keyboards
• Servers
• Printers
• Scanners
• Fax Machines
• UPS Systems
• Networking Equipment
• Digital Cameras
• PDAs
• Cell Phones
• Toner/Ink Cartridges

What do we charge for recycling?

Ecyclme, a division of Charlotte Street Computers, is pleased to announce the donation of its 450th computer. In addition to this great achievement, Ecyclme will also begin accepting old computer and electronic waste, for recycling, free of charge. Jennifer Mayer, owner of Charlotte Street Computers, decided to open the Ecycleme division in August 2008. "As a result of the economic downturn, we were forced to charge for recycling in the past," says Jennifer. "We are happy we can now offer this service to our community for free. Recycled computers that are still usable are refurbished and donated back to community members." The opportunity to give computers back to the community has always been a driving force the decision to have a recycling center. Ecycleme accepts all old computers and parts for recycling. Computer equipment is sorted for pieces that are still usable and the remainder is recycled for scrap. Ecycleme is located at 101 S. Lexington Ave, at the intersection of S. Lexington and Hilliard Avenue. Recycling hours are Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. Charlotte Street Computers provides upgrades, networking, troubleshooting and repairs for home computers and small business systems. For information on computer service, call 828-225-6600.
